What we’re doing:

Shattering Glass Ceilings Scholarship will provide scholarships to those who identify as a female, 28 years or younger, who are pursuing higher education at non-profit institutions located in the United States of America. The institutions may include colleges, universities, community colleges, and technical colleges. Applicants need to be already enrolled or accepted at an institution and currently paying for part of their education out-of-pocket or through loans. We offset or cover those tuition fees.

Shattering Glass Ceilings Scholarship will award scholarships to women who are first generation college students, meaning they are the first person in their immediate family to work toward a post-secondary degree. We encourage women who have immigrated to the United States of America and/or live in an Economically Distressed Area to apply. (Please refer to the map to check your zip code. According to the EIS report, an Economically Distressed Area is one that ranks 80 or higher.)

The number of scholarships and the amount of each scholarship we provide will depend on how much money we raise via our grassroots campaign. At this time, the scholarship is offered for one year. Shattering Glass Ceilings Scholarship is under the umbrella of the non-profit organization Kerosene Lamp Foundation, whose mission is to empower youth to grow into healthy and well-educated adults.

This scholarship fund is is a team effort. Commit30 has generously donated 75 daily planners, one to each of our scholarship recipients, since the scholarship was founded in 2017. Over the years, For Good Pgh has also graciously donated scarves and handmade knitted hats to our scholarship recipients.

Together we can help transform peoples’ lives through education, because when we shatter the ceiling, the sky’s the limit!

Please donate today and share this with others!
