In her own words

Bette Anderson

I am working to attain a higher education because I have dreams and goals in life. I am able to choose a career that I am interested in. I grew up without both of my parents in my life. This taught me to become responsible at a young age and to never give up. My career goals consist of me owning and operating several businesses. I chose business and entrepreneurship as my major because I like to help out my community the best way that I know how. I have been classified as an unaccompanied youth since April of 2017, and without a great support system, I don’t know where I would be right now. There were times when I felt like giving up, but I knew I had a purpose in life to fulfill. I was put here for a reason, and I am determined to figure it out.  I have the determination that I need to be successful in life, and I am confident that I can get to where I need to be in life as long as I try. It is my honor to give back to my community. I have faith in my abilities to succeed, and I know what I’m capable of. My hard work and determination has led me a long way. I’ve learned not to look at what others have and let it determine my future. I refuse to let what I’ve been through stop me from where I can go.
